Anushka Sharma is youngest child of Kumar Sharma (retd.) and Ashima Sharma. She was born in Ayodhya the state of Uttar Pradesh on May 1st 1988. Anushka was the daughter of the retired colonel. She is also a housewife. Karnesh Sharma is Anushka's younger brother. Karnesh Sharma was a member of the Merchant Navy, and is an entrepreneur in the field of film production. Anushka Sharma was not looking to make it as an actor, she wanted to either turn into a fashion model or even a writer. Anushka, after completing her education in Mumbai, enrolled at Elite Model Management. She was taught by stylist Prasad Bidapa. Her first appearance as a model for fashion was in 2017 in which she was a model in the shoes of Wendell Rodricks at Lakme Fashion Week, and then was picked by Rodricks for a role at his spring-summer 2007 collection. After her modeling debut during Lakme Fashion Week Anushka did several campaigns for brands like and she's done ads for the brands' Silk & Shine Whisper Nathella Jewelry and Fiat Palio etc. Anushka started auditioning films and joined an acting academy alongside her career as models. Anushka was the first to be seen in an acting role by Shah Rukh Khan opposite Anushka. In order to prepare for the screening, Anushka Sharma spent all day. Later, she was signed to three movies by Yash Raj Films. She portrayed the bride, who was young and tied to a man of middle in age (the character Shah Rukh Khan was portraying). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka was in 2010's 'Badmash Company" together with Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang, Vir Das. The film received mixed reviews. Anushka Sharma starred in the movie "Band Baaja Baraat. She played the role of a Punjabi woman from the middle classes who runs her own wedding business. The film was praised by critics and was deemed a sleeper to be a success. With Band Baaja Baaraat Anushka's three-film contract under Yash Raj Films banner was final.
